I have no experience with Joomla. As more of a user than a developer it seems WordPress is more than adequate for most of my needs. But I do thank the master minds out there who continue to tweek WordPress.

I have no experience with Joomla so I can't really comment. I use and like WordPress. All of the advice that I have ever been given is to go with WordPress and that is confirmed here, which is reassuring.

Joomla does not impress me.

I've seen magazine-style sites created by people who claim to be experts with Jooma. They complain that it won't do this or that.

Then I look at a magazine-style WordPress site and the difference is staggering.

Joomla looks like a kid scribbling with those big, fat crayons meant for little kids.

It's just not a professional-looking CMS.

Yes, WordPress is like a baby compared to Joomla/Mambo. But this baby totally rocks man~!

Actually I like the idea of starting with a simple framework and adding on the functionality that you need. Many open source programs start out with a heavy base that makes it really cumbersome and restrictive.

Comparing Joomla to WP, is like comparing a child to a man.

WP is at 2.7 stage, and with a truckload of bespoke work, you can get it to do almost anything you want. However Joomla being fully formed can out of the Box, do heavy duty things.

Give WP 2 Years, and it will be more then Equal to Joomla.

However in the area of SEO, WordPress is light years ahead of Joomla. And that is from a non coders perspective.

Obviously WordPress has been coded with better foundations than Joomla.

However in your opinion Valdimir, do you think WordPress and its plugins can achieve all the functionality made available from Joomla and their extensions?
