I've spent most of my childhood and adult life in a beautiful place on a small island. The name of this place is Bol.
I was born not far from there, and I was lucky that my grandparents and their ancestors before them decided to throw an anchor in Bol.
Bol is a magical place. I have not met anyone yet who was in Bol and came back not transformed. Bol has this effect on people. I do not know is it the nature, which looks like God decided to make it his retreat, the simplicity of life, the most beautiful beaches and the sea, food, wine and music at nights, or something else.. Seems like everyone finds something special for themselves.
Bol is placed on an Island of Brac, in the Adriatic cost of Croatia. There are many ways to come, quickest being the Brac Airport, 20 minute ride by car from Bol. The other way would be by far larger Split airport and then taking a boat or ferry. You can also come here sailing while cruising the Mediterranean sea.
If you want to find more information you can visit the official Bol homepage. The tourist season starts in May and lasts until October. The peak is 5th of August when also the famous Bol Fiesta takes place.

Pozdrav, zvuci kao isti onaj Rat koga se ja secam iz tog doba :)
Eh , Supetar ... teenage dani .. 80`s .. kod treceg mola do podne kad odjednom nekom sevne " Dosadno je , ajmo na Zlatni Rat " , svak vec veselo sklapa svoj ashugaman , autostopom na kupanje u Bol . Na Ratu na levoj strani more mirno a ledeno , na desnoj toplo a veliki talasi . Rat se svakodnevno pomera levo i desno oko 1 metar - ako lubenicu zabodes u shljunak u plicaku da se hladi i ne drzis na oku samo po sata , adio lubenice , ashugamani svi smoceni! Au Dragi Boze , kakva plaza ! Potom all night long d.i.s.c.o. pa izjutra direkt na plazu i tek uvece ajmo ca doma u Supetar . Tada ni bilo mobilnih telefona , roditelji su shizeli od nasih nestanaka , sada znam kako im je bilo .. a srce mi je ostalo tamo 1991. .. Nakratko me utesi Google Earth ali nije to to . zadnji put sam bio kada sam imao 17 god. ovog leta sam bio sa decom nakon 17 god koju sam jedva ubedio da se vratimo. inace sam iz beograda a tamo imam kucu. nakon svih ovih sra..a napokon mogu ponovo da uzivam u bolu, bracu, hrvatskoj. pozdrav svima iz beograda
