The funniest example was when a client asked me to do some maintenance work and upgrade her WordPress as well. I did. I billed her and she paid. The very next day, she emailed asking me why I billed without upgrading WordPress. Huh? I go and look. Sure enough, her WordPress has been downgraded.I go and look in her logs. At noon, someone logged on at her house and used Fantastico to upgrade a so-far-never-used subdomain about golfing. This was a dead give-away to me, as the husband had talked about wanting a golf blog, and I knew she was at work during the day. I point this out to her in the log. Mystery solved, the hubby did it! ;-) I upgraded both of their sites manually. So far, so good. I run into this sometimes - the outdated Fantastico WordPress installs. The problem is they are not by default installed on most hosting cpanels, and that means you first need to install it in order to install wordpress through it, which of course takes time and is not a fastest way anymore. And contrary to what Luis said, all the newest versions of wordpress are available within hours of relaease. Even the beta versions are notified and can be upgraded to.
