I have always been told that less is more and when it comes to design this could not be more true, great post and information, really helping me out a lot. Nothing better than new information to keep one up to date.

Thanks for including my site, I've actually tweaked it a bit but its pretty much the same layout.

Minimalism is one of those art directions that not everyone is going to like, its all about content. Personally I love it, I don't like fancy graphics distracting me from what I want to read.

Hey Vladimir, Thanks for your comment. I was working on wanderingmist for a long time and struggled with many layouts and options. Never found peace. My husband suggested to cut the fuss out and go in for a easy-to-handle theme, so we ended up choosing Thesis. I played around with 2 photos of B/W leaves for header and footer and... Eureka! This seems to work well for me. I have no intention changing the design for now but will keep tweaking it as and when I get inspired.

Needless to say, minimalistic designs are so goodlooking. I keep recommending your list to my friends - so that they get ideas :) Keep up your good work. Take care!

Wandering mist looks really nice, with good details. Is it original design?

Hey Vladimir... That is a neat collection of minimalistic designs. I have been trying to keep my new blog minimalistic but somehow something creeps in, out of choice. I am a fan of neat blogs with white and gray backgrounds. I like the cleanliness of your blog. Congrats~

Looked at some of the other minimalistic designs - nothing great, but at least they were ok. This one is totally devoid of colors - they were not.

Why were you after minimalism? Whats so great about it?

    I prefer the previous look.

Well you obviously don't like minimalism as a concept, and that's fine :)

    V,

I'm still not comfortable with your new format.
I don't know if it is because I was use to the old one or what.
but, I don't find the new one appealing.
And, I have to force myself to click thru to the articles.

I looked at some of the ones you listed above.
Nothing excited me to read further.

Have your say
