I am using SEO Friendly Images 2.3 with WordPress 2.6.1 (and previously 2.6) .. I am unable to get SEO Friendly Images to work. I install it, enable it, modified the settings (enabled "Override default WordPress alt (recommended)") but my alt tags on the images in my posts still display the default wordpress generated alt tag not the updated SEO Friendly Images alt tags.
The site is: http://www.myhdtvdeals.com .. The thumbnails in each post are supposed to have re-written alt tags. As you can see theyre not very friendly right now.
My settings are:

Hm works on my site. Difficult to investigate. Why not try disable all other plugins?
