This summer I visited beautiful Greek island of Thassos. It was my first visit to Greece and I was very pleasantly surprised. The true gem of the visit was finding a place called Giola. These are the pictures I took there.
Beautiful pictures of Giola, Thassos
As you can see it is a beautiful natural lagoon, like a swimming pool carved into the rocks. Water is little bit warmer then outside sea which makes it extremely pleasant to swim in. Not many people know about it and it is extremely hard to get to.

Have you ever seen the movie David? It is about a young boy who escaped a prison camp, with the help of his captor, who used to love David's mother. The man was being transferred to another camp and knew that David would not fare well under his new captor's watch. The captor told him to go to Denmark, which was a long ways away. He gave him a compass and told him to keep going north. It is a great film, but I was wondering if you had seen it so you might be able to confirm if one of the places David visited in his travels was not this very place in your photo. It looks so familiar, but perhaps there is more than one lovely place like this in that part of the world.

We were 5 times in Thassos (every year since we have 2 kids - now 8 and 5 years old - we are going there with our inflatable catamaran) and we thought we know very good the island! Giola is so beautiful, that I couldn't resist and brought my kids there, 8 and 3 yrs old. We had wonderful times there and will visit Giola again.
