They just have no idea what the right thing actually is, and what it can do for them directly. If they can be shown (somehow) that they can *personally* benefit from making a few small changes, it will go a long way toward raising consciousness.Prior to last winter I added a fair amount of insulation to my attic. The result - I cut my fuel costs this last winter by 20-25%. That's extra money in *my* pocket. I've replaced almost all of my lightbulbs with compact fluorescents. More money for me. Strategically growing my own food in decorative containers saves me even more money (and wastes a bit less fuel).I figure if I keep doing small changes at a time, I can cut my *cost* of living while increasing the *quality* of my life.
