Busy as a Bee

Two weeks passed since my last post. And I haven't been traveling, enjoying sports or any type of hedonism. I've been busy like a bee with work. Sounds familiar? All too familiar? I have a strong feeling that this is a period that will pass. That I have to somehow withstand only this one killer year of setting my own business straight and after that everything will be fine and relaxing. I am wondering if that is really true. The work seems to accumulate at an amazing pace.

The Incovenient Truth about 11th Hour

"We are doing everything we can, given our current level of awareness" is a quote from a movie I've just seen, called "The 11th Hour". The movie is about environmental crisis and the quote brilliantly puts to perspective our collective state of mind today as a civilization. Our lovely planet is being destroyed every day. That is a scientific fact. Our civilization grows, our economy grows even faster but the capacity of our planet to provide resources is constant.

Future of Internet for developers

I am spending a lot of time recently pondering about the future of Internet looking through the eyes of developers. Without a doubt anyone with web development skills will have bright future in front of them. The markets have only started to unveil. The need for web development grows beyond all boundaries, as Internet becomes the number one market of the future. Facebook is already worth more then Ford and AMD combined, what other proof you need?

Alexa new ranking change, Google on the move?

Most of the bloggers track the so called Page Rank, which is Google's measure of web page authority. The greater this number is - the more authority the page has. The more authority the page has, the more likely it is to show up in the search results for a term contained on that page. However this is not a complete information about a site, as it does not count visits to the site. Much usable measure would be the ranking of actual website traffic which is exactly what Alexa rank was providing.
