SPAM is no.1 enemy of all blogs, especially new ones. It usually comes in the form of automated comments submitted by various SPAM software but also in the recent days I have been seeing more and more human made SPAM comments. Purpose of the SPAM comments is to draw attention to a certain site, number of sites or just some keywords. Most spam messages are obvious at first sight, but there are also those that are well covered.
