Take a picture and have it in seconds on your blog?

Bol MarinaIs there anything in the world that can have this? Iphone perhaps?

I am now sitting on the terrace of my island house in the Adriatic sea and have the most wonderful view that I'd like to take a photo of and publish here, to share and freeze the moment in time.

But the whole idea of having to take a picture either by camera or phone, then upload it to the laptop either with cable or bluetooth, resize it, and finally upload it to this blog post makes it enough for me to give up it (you can call me lazy freely).

Can the mighty iphone or anything else out there in the world do this in 20 seconds? I am a buyer.

a guy over at http://www.fuller.name has been able to do this in MT for years.
I don't know how he does it, but I know he takes a picture with his iphone,
send it via email, and its on his blog within a second or two. There used to
be a site that did this for bloggers, but they went out of business ages ago,
    I know that much.

    Hi Vladimir

I've been searching for the same, and you can see my latest effort at http://www.PictureMe.mobi I'm using some custom code along with wp-mail and a photo resizer. It's not 100% done, but it gets me the basics of emailing an image and having a blog post. I can add categories, title, body if I choose.

Anyways, it's a late night hack kinda thing - anyone interested in sharing ideas or comments please do so.

    Hey Vladmir

    I saw this on lifehacker

    http://lifehacker.com/5340222/cutecanoncapture-snaps-photographs-via-usb

I guess if you had a canon you could take the picture from you laptop and post to your blog using windows live writer.... pretty quick, maybe even 20 seconds

Now that's one cool concept. Better even if did it via WiFi.

It's a wonderful photo, regardless of how you finally got it there. :)

Iphone + Wordpress App will accomplish this.

    1. Take the pic
    2. Run the WP App
    3. Write a new blog post and attach the image you want.

You need to do a bit of set up on your Wordpress Blog permitting use of a mobile device for publishing, but its quick and easy.

Rich does the image goes directly to the post (uploaded to wp uploads?). What if I want to write the post on my laptop , not on the iphone (and still use that image) - which is my original idea.

I believe you could just save the post as a draft immediately after adding the picture to the post's media gallery.

Posterous.com and Flickr.com both allow for posting to their service and then posting that entry to your blog. Both of which do so via email and Flickr also allows for customizing the way in which it will post to the blog.

    Totally doable.

    Simply put; the Google Android.

I love it how I can take video
    1) stop recording
    2) press share
    3) and select to share by;
    - Email
    - Google Mail
    - Facebook
    - MySpace
    ... or if video, Youtube

There's probably an app to download for FREE (because Google aps are cool like that),
but I just link my WP to my email acct - voila, posted... but of course... if you want to tinker around (edit) colour, crop etc, you could also do that before you send.

Or... the browser interface is really nice on it, so you could always keep a browser window open for your WP account and *kapow* upload.

I don't know how good the deals are in your country, but in the UK I pay an extra £4 per month for unlimited 3g - another reason why my iCrap friends hate me (if they are on pay per). :]

Yes, this was a totally bias comment towards the Android.
    & yes, I am a iCrap basher.

    Bests,
    John

Same question as to Roger: I am curious, start writing a wp post, and then try to insert an image that you just taken on your iphone. can you tell me the time involved to publish the post with this image?

Yes, it can. You need to buy an iPhone :-) install the wordpress app (free, and Roger already mentioned it), and once you have set up your blog, you can literally do it in 20 secs.. perhaps less.

iPhone combined with one of the many apps that let you take a pic and upload it.

Generally, the WordPress App, the Tumblr App or mobileFoto which would upload directly to flickr are the three apps I use, but there are so many others out there right not that can do this as well.

My Nokia e71 has a 'share on the web' application that can talk to Pixelpipe....so a photo can be instantly uploaded to Pixelpipe and from there to whatever services I have set up, eg blog, twitter, flickr.

Maybe it's a Nokia app - think it came with the phone.

I use tumblr for those types of moments. Posterous will do it too but neither of those are wordpress. I think you can also publish that way to wordpress though with the wordpress app for iphone.

I will say that with the iphone and being able to shoot a pic and email it and have it be done is the way to go.

I do it all the time on mine

Yes but I still have to insert it somehow in my wp post. I dont think this can be done in less then 20 seconds?

One way I can think of is to use a myspace blog. With myspace you can sms your pics to myspace, post it on the blog, then have it update your blog here... Good luck...

Upload via mobile - this bit scares me a bit. Have you tried it?

      • Nikolay
        Aug 14th, 2009

Well, how else can you do it in 20 seconds :)
Yes, I did try it and it works for less than 20 sec with my Omnia.
The moment you take the photo, you are offered to upload it, press the button and that is it - the photo is published in your weblog.

        • Aug 14th, 2009

I am writing the post on the laptop. I want then to insert the photo into this post. Is this the case you covered?

            Sorry, Vladimir
I didn't notice that you want to "upload it to this blog post".
ShoZu can upload and post the photo in a separate post.
It creates post with the uploaded image and caption.
