He&#039;s credited with the first fire brigade which involved his men running around setting light to properties he fancied.  If the people agreed to sell for only 10% of the market value the fire was put out - else it burned!  He was a particularly nasty bloke, even for the times.  He was the one that crucified all the slaves and had the whole Appian Way lined up with thousands of crosses.
