Two job offers I wouldn’t say no to

My heart is in game development. For years I loved games and I enjoyed creating them. Computer games are the ultimate challenge for an imagination as unrest as mine.

There are two guys that are legends in computer gaming world and these gentleman are David Braben and Sid Meier.

David Braben is the creator of 'Elite', the game that I can freely say changed my life. From the very first time I saw Elite and that was in 1984 I was drawn into this magical world of digital data on my screen. I could barely sleep for next couple of months awaiting my first computer in early 1985. Then I took it everywhere we went even to summer vacations - just so that I can play Elite on it. Today David owns Frontier Development and guess what? They are hiring.

Sid Meier is teddy bear alike guy, a genius behind such games as Pirates, Civilization and Railroads. If Elite marked the beginning of my gaming education, Civilization marked my growing up. I played that game relentlessly day and night, just could not get enough of its simple complexity. Today Sid owns Firaxis and guess what? They are hiring too.

There I said it. If there are two companies in the world I wouldn't say no to, those are these two companies. Keep up with the good work guys!

    Rudy great point!

My husband works in the video game industry as an Animator and you have to be flexible to relocate all over the world. We have had offers in Australia, the US and within Canada where we live. So far in Canada we have lived in three different provinces in his career span of 7-8 years.

Designing and developing games is very 'Elite' stuff isn't it? I hear most of the programming is done in c++.

Vladimir, I love Civ and was a Civ II fanatic. I use to play board games and the I found a good turn based strategy game like Civ to be a great next level. You are a bright guy, why don't you start your own computer game company. I have thought of this myself. You do not have to be the programmer, but rather the designer. I think in the future this might be fun. It is not about the money but the fun of creating something like this. You have top SEO skills and your creative. Just an idea.

Well thank you for the tip. I love gaming myself and remember the feeling of certain game types and how they changed many factors for me including my growth to and through computers. Gamers had to learn how to upgrade hardware and dos code to install and play games. I can build a computer, purely because of my gaming needs. Now if I have time it's xbox360 - You still game?
