Wandering around Egypt and Jordan

I had the pleasure to travel Egypt and Jordan from 31.12.2009 to 15.01.2010. I have to say I wasn't fully prepared for what I will be experiencing during these 16 days of adventure through some of the oldest sites of the ancient world.

I'll keep this short and leave you to experience the same magic I did on this travel. If you are feeling young I definitely suggest a backpacking trip while sleeping in hostels, as you will be able to organize your time in best possible way. Going with an agency does not have to be limiting, but make sure your agency has Cairo, Luxor and an excursion to Petra included. Novemeber to April seems to be best time for this journey as temperatures will not be too high and the sea is still warm enough for swimming.

I was in Egypt too, in March 2009 - and I agree: you see things that make your head hurt with thinking "HOW did they do that?!" However, I hope to go back one day again in my life, because we didn't get to see Abu Simbel.

Great photos, and thanks for sharing :)

When I was younger, I wanted to go back packing and stay at youth hostels. Sounds like you had a great trip. I love the photos.

Nice with a chorus of pilgrims from Brazil singing 'Amazing Grace' in Mt Sinai !
Thank you for sharing this (and ... Amazing Grace theme )!
