   1. Is the "Ultimate Plugins Smart Update Pinger" the successor to the now unsupported "Smart Update Pinger"? If not, what is?

   2. And why do the UPSUP instructions warn NOT to add to this ping list:

    You might want to check out maxblogpress ping optimiser plugin. It'll make sure you only send out pings when you add new posts & not everytime you make a minor change (can lead to a ping ban)

    You said that you recommend using "Smart Update Pinger plugin" which will ping these services only when you post the article not when you edit it - I am just curious if it's bad to have the current system ping when I make edits? - Is it going to get me banned from the ping sites or something if it keeps pinning the same post? I don't want to get my site in any kind of trouble but I do make a few changes to several post sometimes when I'm just tweaking the layout etc. What is your experience with that kind of situation?

    Hi Vladimir, nice list. One question though. WordPress comes with Ping-O-Matic already in the list. Doesn't Ping-O-Matic automatically ping these sites for you?
