Insights brings a powerful new way to write your blog posts. It increases productivity and at the same time the appeal of your posts.
With Insights you can very quickly (in couple of seconds) do the following:
- Search your blog for posts, edit them or insert links to them into the current post
- Insert Flickr Images
- Insert Youtube videos
- Search and link to Wikipedia
- Search Google
- Insert a Google Map
Insights allows you to do all this using dynamic AJAX interface which loads the relevant information to your post in just a few seconds.

Using Insights
Insights increases the speed you access and present information on your site. It makes any information almost instantaneously available.
Let’s say I want to link snazzy archives to my exact plugin page.
If I am not sure of the exact link to that page I would need around 1 minute to open a new window, search for this page, copy the link and paste it. With Insights everything is done in couple of seconds.

Adding images
What if I wrote a post about mountains and wanted to insert a generic picture of a mountain:
With Insights it takes few seconds:

What about a Video?
Easy as it can be. Find a relevant video and click Add Video!

Google Maps
With Insights you can add real maps to your posts using Google Maps interface. You can add markers and draw paths too.
When you are satisfied, Insights will add a map image to your post.

Wikipedia and Google
Insights also allows you to search Wikipedia and Google. Insert the links or read the articles with ease:

Fantastic Vladimir, fine working plugin, well thought about user interaction and navigation.
Of course we always want more (a good human character. Like GB, I also would like a WP media connection and also the Google image search.

Vladimir - another great plugin
This works so well - extremely useful and easy to use

Ciao Vladimir, great plugin, thanks! I was wondering whether there might be a way to have Insights also allow the user to choose images from among his own WP media library. WP’s way to add an image/media from the library is sloooooow . . .
Just a thought that would make this plugin even better, thanks again!
Hoping all’s well with you, your friend in Rome,
GB

I love Insights.
It would be sweeter if it searched google images for the pictures though.
Great work.

usual fix for plugin not working can be a conflict with other plugins. Try disabling all other plugins and checking it then then if it works turning on other plugins one by one until you find the problem.

Just want to say thanks for developing this awesome plugin, works great!

Hi, thanks for the great plugin. Especially the linking to blog posts is a huge time saver.
The Google maps is easy and nice, but totally inflexible.
- Could you make it insert dynamic maps instead of static maps? (so including arrow keys, zoomin/out, Hybrid vs map etc)
-Is there a way to add labels to markers?
- When selecting an inserted map in order it to link it to a page (with a better map), the image disappears (nothing gets linked and teh image/map is lost); bug or regular Wordpress/Googlemaps behaviour?
Thanks in advance,
Cheers, Harry

Hi
Seems very promising, however like some users here, I only get a blank page when going to options. Seems the source code is there but nothing displayed.
Latest WP version installed on a Plesk server, using latest Firefox.
Best regards.
Denis.

If you want to avoid using non-commercial licensed photos, edit the file insights-ajax.php, and edit the search_flickr() function.
In the line that starts:
$params = array(’api_key’ =>
add the parameter:
‘license’ => ‘4,5,6,7′,
Here are the license types:
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/2.0/
Here is the api reference for photo search:

Hope this helps,
Ross

Just wondering about passing link juice. Does it need to edit the wordpress’ plugin source and add nofollow?
October 14th, 2008 at 10:23
Hi Vladimir,
I sent you an email some days ago, with a (hard-coded) French version of your Insights plugin attached, but haven’t heard of you.
Just wanted to know if you’re OK with a French translation. Of course, if you’re not, I’ll respect that, and I won’t distribute the translation.

Was thinking that it would be nice to have a search amazon link there too
If you ever felt like it.
