Using Insights

Insights increases the speed you access and present information on your site. It makes any information almost instantaneously available.

Let's say I want to link snazzy archives to my exact plugin page.

If I am not sure of the exact link to that page I would need around 1 minute to open a new window, search for this page, copy the link and paste it. With Insights everything is done in couple of seconds.

 Insights

Adding images

What if I wrote a post about mountains and wanted to insert a generic picture of a mountain:

With Insights it takes few seconds:

 Insights

What about a Video?

Easy as it can be. Find a relevant video and click Add Video!

 Insights

Google Maps

With Insights you can add real maps to your posts using Google Maps interface. You can add markers and draw paths too.

When you are satisfied, Insights will add a map image to your post.

 Insights

Wikipedia and Google

Insights also allows you to search Wikipedia and Google. Insert the links or read the articles with ease:

Like all your plugins this one is very usefull. Thank you!

I have suggestion. Maybe someone already said about it...
You make search only for Flickr, but it would be very good to add Google Image Search option. On Flickr very often I can't find pic I need. Using Google I find them in 10 seconds. Adding Google Image Search feature will make this even faster and easier.

I love this plug-in but it inserts images that are licensed for use only with attribution and it does not provide an attribution. Any way to fix that?

    • Dec 24th, 2009

Ir provides an attribution by linking to the original source which is fine with flickr. You can add more manually.

    Hey Vladimir,

Thanks for the cool plugin. I am wondering if this works for bloggers who have not even added any meta data to their posts? I am working SEO'ing on a blog with bloggers who are very new to SEO and have no meta data, so the plugin seems to not be pulling in anything.

    Please advise.

    Thank you, Vladimir.

Amazing plugin, thank you!! I actually looked it up after reading you book and am thrilled. I would love it if I could use Insights to search the media library, as well.

    Thanks again!

Great plugin! Thanks for maintaining this.

    I have three suggestions:

The ability to specify the alignment for an image
The ability to have images uploaded into the user's own media library, in case the original image is removed
The ability to include the title and/or description from the image's Flickr page

Hi, it is a VERY good plugin! But i'm having one problem... when inserting the Google or News items, it is inserting the without the text between tags... so the link doesn't appear. It should look like this right... title. It's inserting without the title right now. Thx!

Vladimir, I am using this plugin on my site, and really enjoy the features. I am, however, curious if you have considered making it so that the insert map feature inserts a dynamic google map which can be zoomed in and out? Also, it would be useful if there were some way of labeling markers, as I have some maps with several markers on them. I would love to hear if you have any plans regarding these features.
    Thanks, Mark.

Fantastic! So simple. Thanks for pointing me to the obvious solution. I guess I'm just not expecting Insights to be as easy and complete as it is. Can't tell you how much I'm enjoying it. (And I have your Blue Grace theme, too.)

    A fan,

Thanks for the reply about the alignment of pictures, but my point is that in Wordpress, when you click on insert images, you get choices, including left, right and center. Do I have to insert code to get the pictures to align where I want them with Images? If so, where can I find out how to do that?

Hi Vera Marie. Once you have inserted a picture, or a map for that matter (since maps created by insights are also converted to images), go to your post where the image has been inserted and left click on the image. After left clicking on the image, two icons should appear and one will be for editing the image, and the other will be for deleting the image. If you click on edit image, then you will be presented with the options to align left, right, center, etc. that you are looking for. I hope this helps.

I think Insights is fantastic, and I'm telling everybody what a wonderful plug in it is. I just have one question. Is there a way that I can wrap the words around a picture? With Word, you have the choice of placing picture left, right or center, but with Insights, I have not found any way to control its location in the post.

Thanks so much for this great tool.

Hi the inserted image is just like any other WP uploaded iamge so you should be able to align it left or right.

Just loaded and activated your plugin did a post but can't locate the tool bar. The only page I get say's "Insight" Enter the number of search results you would like to see for your searches and\or Turn on Google Maps module?

Did the plugin fully upload or am I missing something with the instalation?
