Using Insights

Insights increases the speed you access and present information on your site. It makes any information almost instantaneously available.

Let’s say I want to link snazzy archives to my exact plugin page.

If I am not sure of the exact link to that page I would need around 1 minute to open a new window, search for this page, copy the link and paste it. With Insights everything is done in couple of seconds.

Adding images

What if I wrote a post about mountains and wanted to insert a generic picture of a mountain:

With Insights it takes few seconds:

What about a Video?

  1. Fantastic Vladimir, fine working plugin, well thought about user interaction and navigation.

Of course we always want more (a good human character. Like GB, I also would like a WP media connection and also the Google image search.

    Regards,
    Peter

  2. Just used your plugin for the first time on a new blog - Loving It!! But I want MORE :-) Can you think of a way to let me search my ZenCart store and business Wordpress blog hosted on a different subdomain? Thanks for the great plugin!!
… now back to blogging …

  3. Vladimir - another great plugin
This works so well - extremely useful and easy to use

  4. Ciao Vladimir, great plugin, thanks! I was wondering whether there might be a way to have Insights also allow the user to choose images from among his own WP media library. WP’s way to add an image/media from the library is sloooooow . . .
Just a thought that would make this plugin even better, thanks again!
Hoping all’s well with you, your friend in Rome,
    GB

  5. I use wordpress 2.5.1 and it`s not working!!!
go to the write post and type a keyword and press….. nothing happens….. nothing erorrs…

have also disactivated all the other plugins and tested out and yet nothing happens

  6. I love Insights.

It would be sweeter if it searched google images for the pictures though.

    Great work.

  7. usual fix for plugin not working can be a conflict with other plugins. Try disabling all other plugins and checking it then then if it works turning on other plugins one by one until you find the problem.

  8. Just want to say thanks for developing this awesome plugin, works great!
    Keep up the good work…

  9. Hi, thanks for the great plugin. Especially the linking to blog posts is a huge time saver.

The Google maps is easy and nice, but totally inflexible.
    - Could you make it insert dynamic maps instead of static maps? (so including arrow keys, zoomin/out, Hybrid vs map etc)
-Is there a way to add labels to markers?
    - When selecting an inserted map in order it to link it to a page (with a better map), the image disappears (nothing gets linked and teh image/map is lost); bug or regular Wordpress/Googlemaps behaviour?

    Thanks in advance,
    Cheers, Harry

  10. I use wordpress 2.5.1 and it`s not working!!!
go to the write post and type a keyword and press….. nothing happens….. nothing erorrs… ((((

  11. Hi
Seems very promising, however like some users here, I only get a blank page when going to options. Seems the source code is there but nothing displayed.
Latest WP version installed on a Plesk server, using latest Firefox.

    Best regards.
    Denis.

  12. Released version 0.4 which ads the option to search only non commercial photos

  13. @Ross - Thanks Ross this will be included in the new released version

  14. If you want to avoid using non-commercial licensed photos, edit the file insights-ajax.php, and edit the search_flickr() function.

    In the line that starts:
    $params = array(’api_key’ =>

    add the parameter:
    ‘license’ => ‘4,5,6,7′,

    Here are the license types:
    http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/2.0/

Here is the api reference for photo search:
    http://www.flickr.com/services.....earch.html

    Hope this helps,
    Ross

  15. Just wondering about passing link juice. Does it need to edit the wordpress’ plugin source and add nofollow?

  16. Hi Vladimir,

I sent you an email some days ago, with a (hard-coded) French version of your Insights plugin attached, but haven’t heard of you.

Just wanted to know if you’re OK with a French translation. Of course, if you’re not, I’ll respect that, and I won’t distribute the translation.

  17. Was thinking that it would be nice to have a search amazon link there too :) If you ever felt like it.
    Sproke :0)

  18. Video does not work! Please fix the “Add video” button. Video fix for 0.3.3 bring along another bug…..

  19. IE7 seems to automatically block YouTube content.
