Using Insights
Insights increases the speed you access and present information on your site. It makes any information almost instantaneously available.
Let's say I want to link snazzy archives to my exact plugin page.
If I am not sure of the exact link to that page I would need around 1 minute to open a new window, search for this page, copy the link and paste it. With Insights everything is done in couple of seconds.

Adding images
What if I wrote a post about mountains and wanted to insert a generic picture of a mountain:
With Insights it takes few seconds:

What about a Video?
Easy as it can be. Find a relevant video and click Add Video!

Google Maps
With Insights you can add real maps to your posts using Google Maps interface. You can add markers and draw paths too.
When you are satisfied, Insights will add a map image to your post.

Wikipedia and Google
Insights also allows you to search Wikipedia and Google. Insert the links or read the articles with ease:

Installation
1. Upload the whole plugin folder to your /wp-content/plugins/ folder.
2. Go to the Plugins page and activate the plugin.
3. Use the Options page to change your options
4. If you want to use Google Maps module then get your free Google Maps key here.
4. Write a new post. You will notice Insights toolbar. Use it :)

I hate to tarnish a great plugin but I'm afraid video embedding doesn't work for authors. The search is fine, the gallery displays perfectly, but when you click Add Video the video object fails to appear in the editor window. Switching to HTML view reveals the HTML but when it comes to publishing the thing, the video is missing. It works perfectly for images and perfectly for the Admin user. (I've been following this idiosyncrasy for a while and was hoping it would be fixed by now).
Any thoughts anyone?
Pete.
hi. Thanks for plugin
perfect
Great plugin! Something really useful and easy to use!
I love the insights plug-in! I use it for every blog post I write. Great review, Vlad.
It seems insight is rather buggy since the WordPress 2.7 upgrade. Sometimes it inserts maps into my posts, but today it didn't. I tried to upgrade to the latest version, and nothing worked at all. I went back to the old version, because it was working yesterday.
Hello,
A related plugin called zemanta offers a way to test-drive the way it works by allowing the user to paste text in a trial window and then see the results.
Do you have an option like this?
Thanks,
Bill
I confirm Jean-Paul Horn's issue with 0.5(.1) - it did work on my local test-server, but not on my hosted server, with the same effect as Jean's.
Does this plugin work OK with WordPress 2.7 (the latest wordpress)? Any issues/conflicts with any other plugins?
Sorry I don't read all the comments... So I apologize if my request has already been made by anyone else.
What about integrating Google Images ? Flickr is good, yes, but some images cannot be found on it.
Anyway, I have just installed your plugin and I find it impressive. Thanks a lot.
Thanks for the heads up, the glitch has been fixed in 0.5.1
I've hit RETURN too fast, before correcting the typo... Of course I upgraded to 0.5, not 1.5...
Hi,
first, I love this plug-in of yours. I just upgraded to version 1.5, and wanted to give you a quick feedback about a small glitch I've found. In line 123 of insights.php the processing instruction is indefinite - it reads just "<?" instead of "<?php". Some configurations (like mine) don't seem to like that. This set aside, the upgrade is perfect.
Hi Vladimir,
I think your insights-ajax.php is broken. It's missing GET options for the newly added modules. Since 0.5 the Ajax search doesn't work anymore and the Search button doesn't work either.
What a great and lovely plugin!
Thanks for the add of google blog search. I will try the new version. Excellent job, and very useful.
Version 0.5 is out today, with added support for Google Blog Search and News Search.
Hi,
Maybe you could add the google blog search and a technorati blog search: links to wordpress blog may procure ping or trackback for the site :) and procure backlinks. (even in nofollow, it could be a source of trafic).
Hello Vladimir,
Awesome plug-in and very powerful. I'm having the same issues as Harry with the generated static maps not appearing in my posts. Not sure what's going on, but Insight appears to generates the proper code. I checked by copying the code to a blank text file and saving as an html file, which produced the static map. That same code produced by Insight is not generating a map in my WordPress posts? Like Harry I'd like to see dynamic maps, but I'd be more than happy for the static one working. The other features work impeccably well in my opinion.
Thanks for your hard work,

OK, uninstalled the plugin, re-downloaded it, re-uploaded it, re-activated it but it still doesn't work.
Out of all the plugins I have evaluated recently this is on the only one which doesn't work, at least on my system.
I'm disappointed because it looks so cool and would be very useful.
Whoops! look I've spoken too soon ;-)
Good news is I was able to install and activate the plugin very easily. I was even able to get an api key for the Google map function. Options panel is easy to configure. No problem.
Bad news is it doesn't seem to work by that I mean when I write a new post and type a search string into the Insights panel, and select a radio button, when I hit the 'Search' button nothing actually happens at all.
Is it something to do with JQuery? I'm on OSX here running FF2.
Ideas:
1. Ability to add a search engine in the options panel, i.e. my own custom Google search
2. Amazon would be cool too but would need an option where we could set our localised version, i.e. mine would be .co.uk (not .com)
This is such a cool plugin, deeply appeciated.
I have a question: how could I make it search a custom Google search engine?
I've built a custom search that queries the travel sections of UK newspapers.
Fantastic Vladimir, fine working plugin, well thought about user interaction and navigation.
Of course we always want more (a good human character. Like GB, I also would like a WP media connection and also the Google image search.
Regards,
Peter
Just used your plugin for the first time on a new blog - Loving It!! But I want MORE :-) Can you think of a way to let me search my ZenCart store and business WordPress blog hosted on a different subdomain? Thanks for the great plugin!!
... now back to blogging ...
Vladimir - another great plugin
This works so well - extremely useful and easy to use
Ciao Vladimir, great plugin, thanks! I was wondering whether there might be a way to have Insights also allow the user to choose images from among his own WP media library. WP's way to add an image/media from the library is sloooooow . . .
Just a thought that would make this plugin even better, thanks again!
Hoping all's well with you, your friend in Rome,
GB
