Using Insights

Insights increases the speed you access and present information on your site. It makes any information almost instantaneously available.

Let's say I want to link snazzy archives to my exact plugin page.

If I am not sure of the exact link to that page I would need around 1 minute to open a new window, search for this page, copy the link and paste it. With Insights everything is done in couple of seconds.

 Insights

Adding images

What if I wrote a post about mountains and wanted to insert a generic picture of a mountain:

With Insights it takes few seconds:

 Insights

What about a Video?

    This plugin is really great! If you could add the options from YouTube allowing the user to specify the size of the video to embed, that would be awesome. I realize that this can be done manually in the code after the fact, but it would be far better for less experienced users if it were done from right in the plugin.

    Hi there! I love the idea of this plug-in but I can't get it fully working. Using WP 2.7.1 this installs fine. I can change the settings and it shows up where it's supposed to on the Posting page. However, if I do a search using My Blog, Images, or Videos (All other aspects of the plugin work fine!) I get the following error:

    Warning: require_once(/home/glaceau/wp-settings.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/glaceau/w0rdpress.conf on line 75

    Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/glaceau/wp-settings.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/glaceau/w0rdpress.conf on line 75

    Now, I have pulled my wp-config file outside of my blog directory and renamed it for security purposes. In the old wp-config.php file I have:

    <?php
    require( dirname( __FILE__ ) . '/../../w0rdpress.conf' );

    Every other plugin works fine but for some reason I can't get this one to work quite right.

    Can you help me?

    Thank You!!

    how do I fix this? Thanks in advance.

    Sorry, my english is too bad... Insights plugin is really great ! But I have a bug with my Admin Page when I write a new post : the toolbar is off when I click on "HTML" and then clik back on "Visual"...

    Details in french (sorry) :
    'avais suspecté deux extensions installées l'une après l'autre (avant tout fonctionnait à merveille) : Plugin Central et Insights... J'ai désactivé les deux... sans résultat... J'ai supprimé les deux... sans résultat... Et souci complémentaire quand je veux écrire un article, l'éditeur s'affiche en mode HTML... ce que je tape apparaît normalement... Si j'essaie de passer en mode visuel, ce que je tape s'affiche en blanc (alors forcément sur fond blanc ça ne le fait pas...). Bon, le côté positif des choses c'est que ce que je tape s'enregistre normalement et est publié normalement si je le demande... Mais bon, pour faire de la mise en forme simple, insérer des liens, etc... ça devient compliqué sans barre d'outils...

    HELP !

    COMPLEMENT :
    Le souci semble venir d'insights (qui, soit dit en passant fonctionne parfaitement bien sur mon WP 2.6.5). Je me suis reconnecter avec un autre profil d'administrateur et la barre d'outil est réapparue (mais en me connectant à nouveau avec le premier profil d'administrateur, elle ne réapparaît toujours pas).
    En fait, concrètement, la barre d'outil disparaît quand on passe, au cours de la rédaction d'un article, de l'interface "visuel" à l'interface "html"... Et quand on revient sur Visuel, non seulement la barre d'outil a disparu mais dans le bloc de saisie de l'article, tout s'affiche en blanc (sur fond blanc), même le curseur...
    Dernière remparque : même en supprimant carrément insight, ça ne résout pas le problème...

    Donc : quelqu'un à une idée ?

    La solution en attendant : se créer un nouveau profil d'administrateur et surtout ne jamais passer en affichage HTML ! Si on a besoin de trifouiller les codes, il vaut mieux se déconnecter et se reconnecter via un profil qui souffre déjà de la disparition de la barre d'outil en mode Visuel (en mode HTML le bloc de saisie texte apparaît bien... mais plus de barre d'outils non plus)

    Hi!
    I'm wondering how the search for Flickr pictures is set up:
    Is the pictures found always legal to use on a commercial page (if the non-commercial setting have not been turned on)..?
    Which license are the pictures?
    THANKS!

    I really appreciate your plugin ! I use it mostly to link to other posts in my blogs or wikipedia articles.
    I would just have a little suggestion, it would be even nicer to be able to choose where a link should be open. It could be a simple option. When i put a link on a page, most of the time i want it to be opened in a new page so that visitors stay on my page.
    Again, thanks for the nice job !

    I think this is one of the coolest plugins for bloggers. I've been trying to find something that makes looking up flickr images and your own blog post links easy. Here it is!

    One question regarding flickr pics, is there a way to make it to search for pictures that are allowed to be used with commercial sites (the ones without the non-commericial usage)?

    Inisghts would be a brilliant way to implement a human moderated version of the pingcrawl plugin. Insights could search the google blog function for posts on other blogs that relate to your keywords. You could then look at the results and choose to pingback/trackback some of those posts. It -might- be good for your SEO (depending on what you think about nofollow links), but it's also a good way to get your site noticed by people (with pingbacks on other blogs) and to share links with your existing readers.

    FYI...

    Insights works fine on my blog and I run WP 2.7 with the K2 theme. I primarily use the "Blog", "Wikpedia" and "Google" insertion features and have been running it without any issues.

    When will this plug in be available for version 2.7? Looks great and I can't wait to try it but the 'warning - this plugin has not been tested with your version' is a tad bit scary ....

    Hello,
    Insights Images not returning pictures/results... The wheel just keeps spinning. Videos also not returning results, but all other (Google, Wikipedia and maps) do return results. Any feedback and support is appreciated.

    Thank You,

    This plugin is amazing, but :-) i'm speaking spanish and the searches appear just in english. Same like Rene: how can configure the language?

    Another question, Google Maps shows only like "maps", is possible show the satellital version? :-/

    How can i change this?

    Hi,

    Top plugin and have been using for some time.

    One thing I do miss is some proper doco with each plugin update outlining/summarising the feature changes or fixes.

    I tend to be reluctant to upgrade something until I'm aware of what the changes actually are.

    Also, your plugin is noted by the WP plugin install process as not having been tested under 2.7. I run your plugin under WP 2.7 and have not had any issues - works fine. You might like to update this at some stage.

    Regards,

    R
