SEO Smart Links

Support SEO Smart Links by buying the Premium version!  SEO Smart Links Premium is faster, with bug fixes and over 20 new features. What is new?

SEO Smart Links can automatically link keywords and phrases in your posts and comments with corresponding posts, pages, categories and tags on your blog.

Further SEO Smart links allows you to set up your own keywords and set of matching URLs.

Finally SEO Smart links allows you to set nofollow attribute and open links in new window.

Everything happens completely transparent, and you can edit the options from the administration settings panel.

How it Works?

SEO Smart Links looks for keyword phrases that match the titles of your posts and pages by default (and you can enable categories and tags matching too). These phrases are then turned into the links. The matching is case insensitive and the original case is preserved.

So If I mention Amazing Grace, which is my theme and also the title of one of my pages, it will be automatically converted into a link.

Everything happens completely transparent, and you can edit the options from the administration settings panel.

    I love this plugin.

One problem: How do I get it to not link on keywords / keyphrases that are part of already-linked text?

Currently the plugin is breaking my links if they happen to contain a keyword or key phrase.

    Please help!

Really like this plugin. But the nofollow doesnt appear to be working how I want it. I want nofollow within my blog. Does it not work that way ie is it nofollow to external links ?

    Thanks

Does anyone know how to (or where to) make a mod in the core file (seo-links.php) for the href title? I simply want to add a static keyword into the title. Currently the href title is a replication of the keyword, and I just want to append the static term "dogs" after it.

Jim: thank you, I was hoping not to have to add keywords: if I am using the title of a post it should link to that post automatically (just as it does for tags and categories)... I believe I got the keyword's part working, but I am really interested in the post/pages automatic links.

Thank you for your reply anyway!

Fabrizio: Did you quote "Smart Grids" in the keyword box, or enter it without quotes? It should be without quotes and just a comma between that and the link.

Love your plugin, but I do have one question/feature request.

Would it be possible to add an option for posts to link only within their respective categories? This would be for SEO purposes, and would make this plugin PERFECT for me :)

I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out with the issue addressed in http://www.prelovac.com/vladimir/forum/plugins/seo-smart-links-not-working-in-swedish as it's possibly a deal breaker for me.

    Hi,

I have installed your smart links wordpress plugin and am wondering about its interaction with my online shop. My wordpress blog is in a subdirectory /blog on my server, My Shop (prestashop) is in the root. Will my current sitemap/htaccess add my blog automatically or will these things work sperately in my blog? Are their any advantages or disadvantages to this and does your plugin affect my shop at all?

Also, the same issue applies to google analytics. Will Analytics for my shop pick up my blog as well or should i set up a new analytics for my /blog? Are there any special procedures for this and will it help/hinder my SEO in google? (i.e seeing duplicate content or link farming, etc..)

    Thanks.

    David

Thanks so much. I just started my blog http://nervesaregone.com last week. Google picked it up right away. It seems like it's because of your plugin.

    Dave:
I did a bit of pretty clumsy debugging, turns out the problem is this test at line 192:

    if ($strpos_fnc($text, $postitem->post_title) !== false)

It never succeeded in the page where I use the words "Smart Grids" (I do have a post with exactly that title).

I used this php code for debugging:

    echo 'alert("this error can be safely ignored, sorry for the inconvenience");';

I know is not cool, but I am not a professional programmer... as you can see!
The test sends out quite a few alerts if I use it right before the line 192, and does never pop up if I paste it right after.

    HEEELP!!!!!

Really don't know what to do... I am trying to narrow the problem a little: I noticed Custom Keywords would work, and also links to tags and categories work. I don't have any pages, so can't check that one, but definitely the links to post titles don't work...

    Please heeelp!!!

    Thank you!

Great plugin, only problem I've found is it escapes all the " characters in my posts with a \

(Even within tags, such as style="" , this becomes style=\" \" , which obviously doesn't work.)

    Dave: It is...
    my settings are:
    Y posts/pages
N allow links to self (posts/pages)
    N comments

    N excluding

    Y post/pages target
    N categories/tags target

    N Process RSS feeds
N Process only single posts and pages
    N Case sensitive matching

Empty Ignore Posts and Pages/Ignore keywords

N Prevent Duplicate links for grouped keywords (will link only first of the keywords found in text)

    Max Links: 3
    Max Single: 1

    N Add nofollow attribute
    Y Open in new window

    ...any ideas? Thanks :)

Fabrizio: Check the options. Make sure you have it enabled on both posts and pages, and that you're looking at the actual post/page (not a category or something).

It should work... but it doesn't... I deactivated any other existing plugin, uninstalled and reinstalled seosmart links, activated.

On my blog the post 2010/04/22/ted-the-energy-detective/

has the words "Smart Grids" on first line, and I have another post titled exactly "Smart Grids" here:
    /2010/04/13/smart-grids

    ...but it won't link it!

Plugin works great but somehow isn't compatible with the DMSGuestbook. If the SEO Link is activated the Guestbook disapears. Any idea?

onsaleprice: yes, that is the default behaviour.

Fabrizio: It works fine in WordPress 0.9.2. I just installed it and activated it from the Plugins menu. You can configure it under SEO Smart Links in the Settings menu.
