Smart Youtube is a WordPress Video plugin that allows you to easily insert videos/playlists into your post, comments and in your RSS feed. The plugin is designed to be small and fast and not use any external resources.

Installation & Usage
- Upload the whole plugin folder to your /wp-content/plugins/ folder.
- Go to the Plugins page and activate the plugin.
- Use the Options page to change RSS feed options
- When you want to display Youtube video in your post, paste the video link with httpv:// (notice the 'v')
Example: httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00000000
0000000 part is your video REF#
The video will be automatically embedded to your post in the proper way.
If you want to post a high/HD (DVD quality, 720p) quality video you would use httpvh:// ('vh' for video high resolution)
To embed a playlist use extension 'vp' (eg. httpvp://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=528026B4F7B34094)
To use video deep linking just add &start=time parameter at the end of url. For example httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWfksMD4PAg&start=30 will start the video 30 seconds in.
Additionally, you can set how do you want the video to be displayed in your RSS feed. Smart Youtube can show the preview image of the video (automatically grabbed from Youtube), the link to the video, or both. I recommend enabling only the preview image.

I just had to dive into the database on my development server to disable all my plugins. As your YouTube plugin was preventing me from logging into the development instance of my wordpress site by the sheer amount of errors it was spewing. Please fix it as currently I'm not comfortable with deploying your plugin on my live server.
Also I'm getting the strong suspicion that you do not test your plugins on a wordpress installation with debugging enabled, as these errors are then blatantly obvious.

When i upgraded your plugin to version 4.0 , all other plugin like jquery colorbox, stop working ....
i think your plugin colorbox files are conflicting with the colorbox files of other plugins.....
therefore can you provide a solution for this?
SUGGESTION : In your next version of this plugin , plz add option to completely disable colorbox or a option which don't load colorbox files

One question regards the video size:
Is it possible to have an option for auto width (and proportional height) depend on where the video placement.
I have put video on post, and comment like the page below:

Using "vh" for HD YouTube HD video on WordPress 3.2.1
1. When IFRAME enabled: No HD. View defaults to 480p
2. When IFRAME not enabled, view defaults to 720p (as desired).
3. Autostart does not work whether IFRAME enabled or disabled. Cannot figure settings to make autostart video to function.

Hello Vladimir, I am running the latest version, but when I paste a post in facebook, instead of seen the post and its picture, I see the post with the video's thumbnail (and not the image of the post). I have it set to not show thumbnail, but it still shows. Any help?

Version 4.0.3 is not working with httpVH:// etc you just get standard sized ones.
There is still a problem.
After updating to version 4 and 4.0.3 video is not displayed on page with posts.
Displays only after entry in the post.
In the previous version (3.x) it worked.

Hello, I love this pluggin, great job. I have a problem. I post every post on Facebook, and now, the video on the post takes on the IMAGE of the website. Usually, each post has an image, and a video. Now, only the video's Thumbnail shows up, overwriting the image of the post in Facebook, that did not happen before.

I have your plugin on many sites - it is excellent - thank you. Unfortunately any thing after v 3.9.1 won't work. When I update from that version all that shows in posts and pages where the video used to be is the youtube link with the v or vh. Widget video just show blank space.
Same on every site - so don't think its a plugin conflict - maybe server - I'm running CloudLinux , Apache with a csf firewall - does your new plugin fire a script that the firewall maybe flocking?
Its the only reason why I can think that your excellent plugin upgrade won't work on my server.

Hi, I just upgraded the plugin because I saw that Vimeo is included. However, when I put the httpv:// as the instructions say, only the URL appears on the published page. No video appears.. Do you know about this happening?

It suddenly appeared on all excerpts and all around the front page. I had to hurriedly deactivate the Smart Youtube plugin to avoid this weird behavior.
I hope the plugin will be fixed soon. Perhaps Mr. Vladimir wanted to add new features and something got messed up in the process.
But it remains the best Youtube embed plugin for WP with lots of features.

Had the same problem with my Arras theme after the update, showing a youtube icon or a youtube link on thumbnails to posts. Had to disable Smart Youtube for now, but it is a great plugin, just needs a fix.

I just upgraded to new version and found out a problems
1. It displays embeded video thumbnails in post excerpts by default
2. It displays embeded video thumbnails in post excerpts even for posts that do not contain video
I had to disable embeded video thumbnails in post excerpts to get my blog look fine as before.
However, if video is included in post and fits excerpt, it is not shown. That should be fixed.
Cheers for fixing the issues when running in debug mode. Now I can run the plugin on my dev server without it throwing a lot of warnings.
It does however now throw two new warnings in the loop:

I have successfullyi used this plug-in for quite a while now on a couple of web sites.
The V4 upgrade seems to have broken somethng which I haven't quite figured out yet. Anybody else having issues with this upgrade.
