Your website is your second home

2132556613 9541f70b51 m Your website is your second homeThought I would do a short rant (haven't done so in a while) about how attached webmasters (me, and probably you) become with their websites.

We spend time with our website just like in our homes. We take care of it, need to clean it or otherwise it will start to fall apart. If it is a particularly nice website (home) we will be eager to show it to our friends. If it is something we are not proud of, we'd try to hide it from everyone.

Burglars can try to break in into our precious website so we will install firewalls and consult anti-hacking experts. If our site does well we will upgrade it to a bigger, better website.

If our neighbor installs cool little widget, we will install it too. If our neighbor's website looks better, we will pay any price to a designer or developer to best it.

Websites are our second homes. I am just moving my site to a dedicated server and boy is this a headache. You may have seen the site was not working for the past three days.First two days were really stressful  as coincidentally I am moving in the real life too.

Luckily got it sorted and I am moving into a beautiful sunny apartment tomorrow. Home sweet home.

I couldn't agree more. You really do get attached to it and you do everything to make it better. Too bad that the spouse doesn't get the whole 'second home' part..

Hopefully the new dedicated server will address all concerns you might have. Good luck!

I am totally agreed with you. Website is my second home because I spend hours daily to maintain it.
